Description

In the production of semi-finished and finished power transformers, before newly installed transformers are put into operation, and according to the preventive testing regulations of the Ministry of Electric Power, it is required to periodically test the turns ratio or voltage ratio of operating transformers. Traditional turns ratio bridges are cumbersome to operate, the readings are not intuitive, and necessary conversions are required; the test result only shows the turns ratio of one phase. The fully automatic turns ratio group tester overcomes the shortcomings of traditional turns ratio bridge tests. The instrument completes three-phase turns ratio testing in one operation, with fast testing speed and high accuracy.

Performance Features

1.Digital three-phase inverter test power supply – provides clean power with negligible harmonic content. Its adjustable voltage and start/stop functions eliminate interference from unstable AC220V or generator sources.

2.Three-phase power supply design – accelerates testing speed and automatically identifies transformer connection groups 0–11.

3.Wide transformer compatibility – supports various transformer types, including Z‑connection transformers.

4.Automatic measurement and tap recognition – after entering rated parameters once, the instrument automatically measures turns ratio, error, and tap changer position. It accurately detects even asymmetrical taps, supporting up to 197 tap positions.

5.Comprehensive protection – includes high/low voltage reverse connection protection, inter‑turn short circuit protection, and output short circuit protection for enhanced instrument stability.

6.User‑friendly 7‑inch 65K color touchscreen – intuitive smartphone‑style interface for simple, fast operation.

7.Built‑in clock and non‑volatile data storage – retains historical data for easy review.

8.Multiple output and connectivity options – built‑in printer, USB port, and optional RS232 interface for paperless office integration.

9.The unit is housed in a sealed, waterproof, shock‑resistant, and temperature‑resistant engineering plastic case, suitable for demanding field testing environments.

Application Scenarios

Preventative Testing in Power Systems: Regular inspections of operating transformers to assess their health status.

Transformer Manufacturing Process Inspection: Quality control before winding, assembly, and shipment.

Transformer Installation and Acceptance: Ensuring that the parameters of newly installed transformers are consistent with the design and meet commissioning standards.

Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Quickly locating internal faults in transformers such as inter-turn short circuits and winding deformation.

Power Engineering Companies and Power Construction Units: Used as a standard tool for the construction and commissioning of various substations and distribution rooms.

FAQ

Q: What should I do if the test leads are damaged?

A: It is recommended to use original parts. The wire diameter, length, and shielding performance of the test leads are specially designed. Using non-original leads may affect measurement accuracy and safety.

Q: What should I do if the instrument displays "Wiring Error" or "Over-range"?

A: "Wiring Error": Stop the test immediately and check if the high and low voltage sides are reversed, or if the test leads are short-circuited or open-circuited.
"Over-range": Check if the voltage range setting is appropriate, or if the turns ratio of the transformer under test exceeds the instrument's measurement range.

Q: What devices can a turns ratio tester typically test?

A: It is mainly used to test various types of power transformers, and can also be used to test voltage transformers (PTs), current transformers (CTs), and other electromagnetic components with turns ratio requirements.
