Introduction

In the production of semi-finished and finished power transformers, before newly installed transformers are put into operation, and in accordance with the preventive testing regulations of the Ministry of Electric Power, it is necessary to test the turns ratio (or voltage ratio) of transformers in service. This verifies the correctness of the transformer's turns ratio, the condition of the tap changer, whether inter-turn short circuits exist, and whether the transformer is suitable for parallel operation. Traditional turns ratio bridges have non‑intuitive readings that require conversion, and testing must be performed phase by phase. The SMRB10GS Turns Ratio Tester overcomes these shortcomings, offering simple and intuitive operation. It employs a three‑phase precision inverter power supply, resulting in fast testing and high accuracy.

Functional Features

The instrument uses a three‑phase precision inverter power supply, which eliminates harmonic interference from mains voltage during measurement, ensuring accurate results.

The use of three‑phase output voltage increases testing speed and enables measurement of phase‑to‑phase angles. It automatically identifies the wiring group (0‑11). For rectifier transformers with multiple low‑voltage windings, the turns ratio and 7.5° angle deviation can be measured without disconnecting the low‑voltage side.

It is applicable to a wide range of transformer types, especially suitable for measuring Z‑type, rectifier, grounding, electric furnace, phase‑shifting, Scott, and inverse Scott transformers.

It features high‑ and low‑voltage reverse‑connection protection, inter‑turn short‑circuit protection, tap‑changer incomplete‑operation protection, and output full‑short‑circuit protection, enhancing instrument stability.

After entering rated parameters, it automatically measures the transformer turns ratio, error value, and tap‑changer position. For tap changers with asymmetrical taps, it can accurately determine the precise tap position and can handle up to 99 tap positions.

It is equipped with a 7‑inch high‑definition color touchscreen LCD with a modular display, ensuring clear visibility even in strong light.

It is housed in a sealed, waterproof, shock‑resistant, drop‑resistant, multi‑functional engineering plastic case that withstands cold and heat, making it suitable for field testing.
